Middleton, MA—August 25, 2010 – Exact, a leading provider of business software solutions, has introduced an unprecedented solution designed to meet the diverse software needs and budget requirements of job shops and specialty contract manufacturers. Under the umbrella of Ease of Ownership, job shops of all shapes and sizes are able to take advantage of the market-leading shop management capabilities that come with the Exact JobBOSS solution.
Exact has made buying and implementing JobBOSS simple and easy to accommodate the varying levels of technical expertise and experience of companies in the process of selecting and implementing job shop software.
“The world is changing, and shop owners must adapt quickly to take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves in the market,” said Matt Heerey, Exact JobBOSS General Manager. “This new approach to delivering JobBOSS will allow our future customers to determine which offering best meets the needs of both their shop and their budget.”
With three distinct packages, companies can select the JobBOSS offering that fits their business the best:
- JobBOSS Starter Edition is a basic option designed specifically for shops that require a simple way to track jobs from quoting to delivery. JobBOSS Starter Edition can be downloaded directly from Exact and easily installed on a designated workstation without requiring a professional software consultant, helping shop owners bring job control processes into an organized and controlled computerized environment quickly and easily.
- JobBOSS Professional Edition supports prototype and production environments, which includes repeat parts, one time or one off parts and/or mixed-mode manufacturing. This allows shop owners to manage the chaos by quoting to customer-driven requirements without sacrificing the flexibility to make changes on the fly to quantities, routings, materials, production schedule and deliveries.
- JobBOSS Enterprise Edition is designed for companies already familiar with ERP software and who expect complete job control. It offers a growth path into more complete business process management and automation with integrated Customer Relationship Management, Workflow and Document Management, Business Activity Monitoring and Advanced Scheduling. JobBOSS Enterprise Edition can be enhanced with an Advanced Quality configuration for businesses that need integrated quality control in addition to ERP.
With the multi-tiered approach, Exact provides a way for organizations to achieve benefits with JobBOSS at the level that fits their business today with a simple and realistic way to redeploy a different level of the JobBOSS solution as the business grows.
“These solutions not only make it possible for a business to select the capabilities it needs today, but it can also plan to gradually adopt the next level solution as its needs change,” continued Heerey. “Today, job requirements may be predictable, but tomorrow’s market opportunities may require variable pricing, routings and scheduling. With JobBOSS, a shop won’t have to worry that they are overinvesting in technology because they’ll know from the start that we have the solution to support them as their business grows and evolves.”
Exact JobBOSS Showcases New Serialization Module in Version 11.3
Exact JobBOSS version 11.3 has been streamlined to make installation and use even easier than previous versions of JobBOSS. This new release also features a major enhancement to the JobBOSS feature set with the inclusion of a new Serialization module, satisfying a critical need for job shops looking for opportunities in industries that require some level of part serialization, such as the medical device or electronics manufacturing industries.
“The great strength of job shops and contract manufacturers in America has been their ability to survive and adapt to changing conditions,” said Harry Merkin, Exact Americas Vice President of Marketing. “We’ve created the new JobBOSS Serialization module to help smaller manufacturers meet the requirements of new markets and pursue new revenue streams for the business.”
Version 11.3 also includes a completely new integration to QuickBooks, as well as a self-install wizard designed to accelerate the time necessary to start up and quote, schedule and deliver jobs.
