Direct Travel selects Sabre Central Command with Agresso as it looks to grow and integrate business acquisitions

UNIT4 Business Software announced today they have an agreement to provide Sabre Central Command with Agresso to Direct Travel, one of North America’s top travel management companies, as ranked by Travel Weekly’s 2013 Power List.

Direct Travel, Inc. is a privately held corporation established in 2011, with the goal to create a $1.5 billion dollar company through acquisition and organic growth. Direct Travel provides its corporate clients with high quality business travel management services, innovative technology solutions and significant cost savings.

“Technology plays a critical role in our ability to execute on our aggressive growth strategy and achieve our objective of being the one travel management company that can help our clients stay ahead of the ever accelerating pace of business,” said John Coffman, CFO/COO of Direct Travel, Inc. “We wanted a cloud enabled ERP solution that is fully integrated with a travel back office and integrates with our core travel applications. This solution allows us to maintain our operational and financial data in one place.”

“As we continue to acquire travel management companies, we want the ability to integrate and convert data from legacy systems to a robust ERP solution using our internal resources who have performed more than 70 agency integrations in the past,” said Coffman. “Sabre CentralCommand is tailored to our industry, and during the implementation process our internal resources will gain the knowledge and expertise to perform future integrations. This enhances our ability to seamlessly and efficiently integrate business acquisitions without incurring significant costs.”

CentralCommand provides a single, shared data repository, integrating Direct Travel’s front office, travel and financial information. This enables enterprise-wide data analysis and business intelligence, something no other back office solution can claim. By automating manual tasks, CentralCommand minimizes errors, reduces the number of staff required and eliminates the need to outsource functions like commission reconciliation and collection, helping travel management companies (TMCs) save and return a portion of the 30 percent commission typically paid to external collection vendors.

“Our customers are looking for solutions to easily access global data for their customers as well as for their own analysis, and CentralCommand is the only back office platform available to provide this capability,” says Charles Johnston, Director of Travel Industry Solutions at UNIT4 Business Software. “Fifty percent of the top 10 travel management companies on the 2013 Power List are CentralCommand users. All customers combined, CentralCommand presides over $109 billion in revenue each year.”

CentralCommand provides accurate customer information and supports timely decision-making both now and in the future. Designed to be agile and flexible, CentralCommand allows business users to adapt their system easily, without costly IT intervention. This unique ability to provide post-implementation agility delivers swift and enduring ROI for dynamic TMCs facing ongoing change.
