Leading Concession Supply Provider Upgrades to VAI’s S2K 5.0.3 ERP Software to Streamline Operations and Strengthen Customer Service

VAI (Vormittag Associates, Inc.), a leading ERP software provider, announced that Berk Enterprises, an Ohio-based concession supply provider, has upgraded to its flagship S2K 5.0.3 solution. Berk Enterprises and its divisions — Berk Paper, Berk Concessions Supply and Berkley Square – have installed the new platform to hasten customer service and improve sustainability while streamlining overall operations.

Berk Enterprises is a family-owned business that carries over 4,000 products across its food service disposable, janitorial and concession supply lines. For over a half a century, the company has been working with dozens of overseas supplies and nearly 200 domestic suppliers to provide top quality products to concession vendors across the globe. After implementing S2K in 2007, Berk sought to further expand its resources by upgrading to a solution that offered more complete enterprise resource planning capabilities. After reviewing numerous ERP solutions, Berk selected VAI’s S2K solution to simplify its internal operations.

“With this upgrade, we now have access to features such as enhanced purchasing, CRM capabilities and e-commerce functionalities,” said Gina Parry, IT Director, Berk Enterprises. “We wanted a system that would be the right fit for our size and needs, and VAI’s mid-market solution provided the enriched capabilities we were looking for along with plenty of room to grow.”

Upgrading to S2K 5.0.3 was an extremely smooth transition for Berk, as the implementation only took a few days to go live. In addition to its core ERP system, VAI offers third party products that its customers can leverage to help streamline processes. Berk is currently installing VAI’s S2K Sales Force solution, which will provide Berk’s extensive broker network with access to real-time customer information as well as the ability to input prospect and client information instantly. This enhanced CRM portal will reduce overhead costs while driving future sales, which is expected to deliver a greater ROI for Berk.

The company is also implementing VAI S2K Analytics Powered by IBM Cognos, which is a comprehensive Business Intelligence tool that will help Berk improve service and gain a clear picture of revenue and profitability. This will enable the company to control costs and better manage its supply chains.
