The University of Massachusetts Foundation has engaged Ellucian to provide a single comprehensive and responsive resource for operational and functional support of its Ellucian Advancesolution. The foundation contracted with Ellucian for Ellucian Technology Management Services and Ellucian Application Hosting Services for five years not only to get their Ellucian Advance solution up and running, but also to leverage the solution’s capabilities more quickly and fully.
Ellucian is providing onsite a fulltime IT leader for the Ellucian Advance system and four fulltime analysts and technical staff. The team provides day-to-day technical and functional support as well as process enhancement guidance to the foundation office in Boston and four university system campuses in Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, and Worcester. Ellucian Advance is a donor, prospect, and events management system.
“The continued support of Ellucian onsite advances more quickly our use of the solution and results in better fundraising,” said Sandy A. King, Ed.D, deputy chief operating officer and director of advancement systems and services. “Ellucian’s staff has had a variety of experiences in advancement departments at other institutions. They bring that collective experience to our offices and elevate our thinking and use of Ellucian Advance so we can put it to work right away.”
The foundation also contracted for Ellucian Application Hosting Services to provide the technical infrastructure and support services for the solution following several delayed attempts by the institution to go live. The service includes one-stop access to a high quality data center, high performance internet connectivity, hardware and operating system support, security administration, and operational monitoring.
“The hosting service gives us a reliable infrastructure so that the solution is always available to us,” explained King. “The combination of the hosting service and the onsite Ellucian staff provides the full range of support we need, from writing code to sitting with our end users and explaining how to execute more sophisticated campaigns. The integration of the two services lets us get the most benefit from our Ellucian Advance solution.”
