Middleton, MA—March 31, 2010 –Exact is pleased to announce that two customers have been named as recipients of significant industry awards. Systel, Inc. an Exact MAX user since 1996, has been named to Managing Automation’s Progressive Manufacturing 100; and General MetalWorks, an Exact JobBOSS user since 1999, has earned The FABRICATOR’s 2010 Industry Award. Both companies have been recognized for achievements indicative of a commitment to operational excellence.
The Progressive Manufacturing 100 (PM100) recognizes 100 projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation Media as critical to business success in the years ahead. Systel, Inc. based in Sugar Land, Texas, received its place on the 2010 PM100 list in the Operational Excellence category for its successful pursuit of continuous improvement through ISO certification.
After implementing Exact MAX to help automate and manage transaction and production data, Systel deployed Exact Synergy to help improve the way it managed its business processes. With MAX and Synergy, Systel had an integrated business system that provided more control over critical information and processes, allowing them to conduct business in a sound and effective manner. With strong leadership, a solid project plan, and a sound business system, Systel achieved ISO certification in less than two years.
General MetalWorks Honored with 2010 Industry Award from The FABRICATOR
The FABRICATOR has recognized General MetalWorks with its 2010 Industry Award, making it the second time in three years that an Exact JobBOSS customer has been so honored. The winner is selected based on how the business has excelled in three categories—operational improvements, business success, and community contributions.
In his article, Waste not, want more, Dan Davis, Editor-in-Chief of The FABRICATOR outlines how General MetalWorks’ Lean Manufacturing practices helped it earn this year’s award. “In recent years,” Mr. Davis writes “General Press Release MetalWorks, Mequon, Wis., has leaned heavily on practices that eliminate waste in its shop floor operations and kept its work force engaged. The efforts have paid off in that no layoffs have occurred during the recent economic downturn, and the company [remained] on track to finish with $10 million in sales revenue in 2009.”
“These awards are a testament to the great community of customers Exact is privileged to support with our business solutions,” said Patricia Bosco, VP of Support for Exact Americas. “We are proud to be a technology and business partner to all of our customers, and we would like to congratulate Systel and General MetalWorks for such outstanding contributions to their respective industries.”
