ST. PAUL, Minn., Apr 23, 2010 — Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today introduced Lawson Learning Credits, a new offering that helps increase the value and simplify the process of managing services from Lawson Learning. Effective training services are critical to the successful implementation and adoption of enterprise software, including Lawson. The company will highlight the new Lawson Learning Credits program during the annual Lawson Conference and User Exchange (CUE), which begins April 26, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas.
The Lawson Learning Credits program is designed to help Lawson customers save money and gain greater value from their training investment. It provides volume discounts and helps reduce costs associated with administering separate budgets, purchase orders and expense reimbursements for individual training activities. The up-front pricing and payment provides a clear, understandable discount structure that can be applied to all Lawson Learning services. This helps make it easier for Lawson customers to plan their training and better manage training budgets across the enterprise.
The program is based on a specific number of credits purchased in advance and applies to training offerings from Lawson Learning, including classroom training, virtual labs, onsite instruction, and online courses. “Our customers need predictable, reliable training programs to help get their project teams and end-users up-to-speed on Lawson quickly and cost-effectively,” said Alan Hupp, vice president of Lawson Learning. “This program helps them better plan for the learning services their employees will need. At the same time, it helps reduce the costs associated with getting their employees proficient on the software they’ll use every day on the job.”
The new program helps foster greater accountability over training programs by giving Lawson customers a way to plan and view into who is – and isn’t – taking advantage of the learning programs they need. It allows managers to better manage usage and to see how many credits are left. “It’s like having a bank statement that shows your remaining balance, which helps provide greater control for our customers,” added Hupp. “The Learning Credits program is all about helping to improve the return on investment in learning programs, because our customers can clearly see if their Lawson Learning dollars are being applied effectively in their organization.”
Northern Arizona Healthcare, the largest healthcare organization in northern Arizona serving almost one-half of the state, is among the first customers to opt for the Learning Credits program. The Healthcare provider employs more than 2,915 healthcare professionals and serves a population of more than 300,000 people in a service area of more than 27,000 square miles. “We wanted a cost-effective training program for our Lawson enterprise applications,” said John Cortese, CPA, corporate controller, Northern Arizona Healthcare. “By having a ‘bank’ of credits at our disposal at a lower cost, we see this as a better way to manage learning services for new employees as well as ongoing training for current employees. The better our staff is at using Lawson, the more we can leverage the Lawson ERP system for our benefit. This translates into greater value that we can get out of our Lawson investment.”
