Mercedes Medical Enhances Company Operations with Epicor Prophet 21 Software
Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth today announced that Mercedes Medical Inc.’s integration of Epicor Prophet 21 wholesale distribution enterprise resource planning (ERP) software has prompted Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine to name Epicor a 2016 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 (“SDCE 100”) award winner.
Mercedes Medical is a national medical distribution company located in Sarasota, Florida. A two time winner of the Inc. 500, the company has prided itself on being the low cost leader in the medical supply market. “We were working to integrate our systems, and we wanted a company with a presence in the medical supply industry. We needed someone who understood our needs,” said Andrew Wright, chief operating officer at Mercedes Medical.
Before Mercedes Medical began integrating the Epicor Prophet 21 solution, different programs were required for different tasks. Since the company started using the software their sales have almost doubled, margins have increased by 15 percent, and A/R days outstanding have decreased by about 20 percent. In addition, sales per employee have increased by almost $100,000—resulting in a 605 percent ROI and full project payback within two months, as determined by Nucleus Research. “We are honored to play a role in the selection of Epicor in the 2016 SDCE 100,” said Wright. “This company listens to their users. When I go to Epicor with an idea of something I want to do to make our business better, I am not brushed off or ignored. This is a company I want to recommend to others.”
“We are excited that Mercedes Medical has experienced strong results through their use of the Prophet 21 solution,” said Craig McCollum, executive vice president, Americas, Epicor. “Sharing this recognition is an honor and a wonderful display of a solid industry partnership.”
The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects. These projects can serve as a guide for supply chain executives who are looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. These projects show how supply chain solution and service providers help their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for success.
