AACC Honors Jenzabar with Inaugural Innovations Award for its Student Success Survey
Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today that it received an Innovation Award from the American Association of Community Colleges. The Jenzabar Student Success Survey was a winner within the Institutional Transformation Category.
Winners of the inaugural AACC Innovations Award show clear deliverables and outcomes of the work that has been done to improve student outcomes. The Jenzabar Student Success Survey is an online survey and analysis tool that captures student risk data through an online process of self-reporting, and then scored and analyzed across seven key non-cognitive scales. Institutions use it to identify the students who will benefit most from interventions.
“The Jenzabar Student Success Survey is the roadmap for us to follow in providing the highest quality student success services,” said Jeff McNamara Director of Student Success at Carroll University. “If there is a red flag, it enables us to ask the right questions to uncover and address the real underlying concerns.”
The AACC committee reviewed submissions and determine the top winners which were showcased at their Annual Convention in early April of 2016.
“GPA, test scores, and academic performance do not provide a complete picture. Attitudes, behaviors, and life roles are much more difficult to uncover and measure. Students complete the survey in just 15 minutes,” said Meghan Turjanica, Student Success Solutions Manager at Jenzabar. “The Jenzabar Student Success Survey identifies a wide spectrum of issues that are unique to each student and digs into their resilience, commitment, and engagement. Institutions are delivered analysis for each individual student in a visual format that is easy for advisors to focus on specific recommendations with students. An institutional-wide report is then provided for the school to consider initiatives across campus to support their retention strategy.”
The Jenzabar Student Success Survey uncovers the previously hidden factors that have a significant impact on student retention at an institution. Higher education uses the survey to identify the precise type of support each student needs to achieve maximum success. The Survey uncovers these non-cognitive factors that can collectively increase the accuracy of performance and persistence predictions by as much as 30 to 40%.
