Ellucian’s newest administrative software release provides a transformed user experience and modern functionality through the XE: Extensible Ecosystem strategy
Ellucian, the leading global provider for higher education software and services, today announced availability of the cloud-enabled Ellucian Banner Finance 9.0, a best-in-class higher education financial management system. Banner Finance is currently used by more than 900 colleges and universities around the world.
Banner Finance 9.0 offers both a modern user experience and underlying technology architecture designed for the users who rely on the solution daily to help operate their institutions effectively.
“Higher education financial management professionals—CFOs, CIOs and Controllers alike—are increasingly facing pressure to improve efficiencies and enhance transparency,” said Jeff Ray, president and CEO at Ellucian. “The need for a trusted financial solution, which seamlessly integrates with Human Resources and Student Information Systems, has become an imperative to drive institutional growth.”
Banner Finance 9.0’s mobile, cloud-enabled and responsive design offers bring-your-own-device users a solution that will exceed their expectations while anticipating their future needs. This is enabled through Ellucian XE (Extensible Ecosystem), a technology strategy that allows institutions to extend, configure, and add technologies as campus needs evolve—and do so without sacrificing existing investments.
Updates to this release include:
- Intuitive navigation and access to data: Ellucian has reduced training time for new users, expanded access to more people, while preserving the most feature-rich functionality
- Promote the institution’s brand: Colleges and universities can now customize their experience within Banner Finance 9.0 by using images, logos, and more to align with the institution’s brand
- Global first: Banner Finance 9.0 includes availability of all regional, specific localizations and language translations including Spanish, French, French-Canadian and Arabic
- A path to the cloud: Institutions can choose to stay on-premise or move to the cloud. Banner Finance 9.0 offers flexibility, since it was designed to meet the current and future needs of higher education
“As a customer for more than 15 years, Banner Finance 9.0 and the XE strategy has allowed Virginia Tech to transform its investment in Banner Finance into a system for our future without the cost and campus upheaval of implementing a new ERP,” said Deborah Fulton, associate vice president of enterprise systems at Virginia Tech. “Both the user experience and the technology behind the system have been modernized so we have an architecture for today’s campus technology ecosystem including an extensible integration platform, mobile and the capability to meet ever-increasing security requirements.”
