Foster City, Calif., January 7, 2010 — Arena Solutions, a provider of on-demand software that helps small and mid-size manufacturers manage their complex and constantly changing product record, announced that it has signed Sofent Technologies as its exclusive reseller for India. The Arena-Sofent Technologies partnership will enable more of India’s innovative manufacturers to get their product information under control, automate their engineering change processes and ensure that they always share the right bills of materials (BOMs) with their suppliers. Sofent Technologies is currently the only reseller in India to market and sell Arena.
Sofent is the third company Arena has added to its growing reseller channel this year, joining Matrix Applied Computing, which is the Arena reseller in Oceania, and manofIT, the company’s reseller in Israel. With manufacturers around the world choosing Arena to help them move beyond the hazards of spreadsheet-based BOM management and manual change control, Arena plans to keep expanding its footprint internationally. The company expects to establish reseller relationships in Scandinavia and Continental Europe, among other international locations—particularly those with a high concentration of small and mid-size high-tech, medical device and/or clean energy companies.
“We’re putting Indian manufacturers in good hands with Sofent Technologies’ highly qualified staff,” said Craig Livingston, chief executive officer of Arena Solutions. “The company’s command of technology, coupled with its knowledge of the region, will be an asset to any local companies that wish to integrate Arena BOM and change management technology with other engineering and enterprise systems to create streamlined, efficient design-through-manufacturing processes.”
According to Mala Kribakaran, president of Sofent Technologies, “India is set to be one of the fastest-growing markets for solutions across the product lifecycle management (PLM) landscape, and we expect adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS) systems to grow over the next few years among small and mid-size manufacturers and design consultancies. Partnering with Arena Solutions enables us to satisfy these companies’ need for a low-risk, rapid-return solution for collaborative bill of materials (BOM) and change management.”
Sofent Technologies provides high-quality consulting services and products to clients in the United States, United Kingdom and India. Since 2003, the company has been developing software in the CAD, PLM and online spaces and has been consulting on a range of business technologies. Sofent has worked with Arena since 2004 on a number of development and implementation projects and will now be offering the full range of Arena software and implementation services in India, backed by Arena Solutions in the United States.
